For this week’s classmate conversation we did something a little different. We had group conversations! I got to talk to Toni Abad with Courtney this week. Toni with an “i”, cause “y” is for boys (a cute little phrase Toni said), is currently a second year psychology major. She likes to read, bake and watch Hulu during her free time. She wants to be a criminal child psychologist. I found out she lives in Fountain Valley which is where I was born!
This week’s Question of the Week, “What art has made the biggest impact on your life?” Toni answered that the art work of Fabio Napoleoni has really impacted her life. She discovered his work at Westminster Mall while shopping with her mother and grandmother. After hearing his story they fell in love with his work. Napoleni has a series of characters that he draws in different settings. He original drew these cause they made his daughter happy when she was sick cause of her heart condition. Both Toni’s mother and grandmother have a couple of works hanging around the house. Toni herself has a print of one. She is currently saving up to buy one of his pieces. I was really excited to initially hear this story because I live right by Westminster Mall and I will definitely have to check out his work next time.
